TV Burp

November 30th, 2009 by under Entertainment. No Comments.

There are certain TV shows that appeal to a huge range of people such as Friends, X Factor or Strictly Come Dancing.  Millions of people tune in each week and spend a lot of time yakking about what’s gone on.  One of the most popular shows in early prime time slot is TV Burp hosted by none other than comedian Harry Hill.

Harry Hill is quite simply a legend, and one of the most recognizable individuals on TV thanks to his bald head and iconic costume.  He wears a big collared white shirt under his dark suit, with a pair of 1950s retro glasses, a selection of pens and some badges on his jacket lapelle.

What is Otaku?

November 30th, 2009 by under humanities. No Comments.

Otaku – it’s either a proud banner you wave around for everyone to see or a guilty secret that you keep to yourself. Otaku refers to a person with a passionately obsessive interest in anything. The correct usage of the term would be to place the word referring to what the person is obsessed about before the word otaku (e.g., anime otaku or manga otaku). Most people think that this term refers exclusively to anime addicts and manga addicts. But in reality, otaku can refer to anything, from anime to the military.

The Enchanted Isles Wildlife Paradise

The resident clown grabs a twig from the dirt, waves it in the air and then places it at the feet of the object of his affection. A blue foot raised, and then the other. Head held high, he unruffles the full stretch of his wings and whistles skywards. Even the quietest honk from his beloved brings satisfaction and justification for this comical dance, and it begins all over again.

But here on the volcanic islands of the Galapagos, some 600 miles from mainland Ecuador, the rather silly-looking Blue-footed Boobies are not the only ones to have cornered the market on ungainly, yet touching displays of courtship.

Why Home Movie Film Doesn?t Last Forever

November 28th, 2009 by under movies. No Comments.

More durable in comparison to videotape, home movie film was in its heyday from the 1930s to the 1980s. In the 21st century, consequently, most film is reaching the end of its average shelf life of approximately 40 years. The chemical properties of film are decomposing at a fast rate and are especially susceptible to time, equipment, and environmental factors. Unless these film reels are transferred to digital formats, their images will eventually be lost and irretrievable.
